Together, Icons Changed the World
During our country’s first ‘road trips’ through the countryside, the Vagabonds spent time together, engaged in numerous conversations and fostering a deep understanding and fondness for each other.
They camped together, fished together, explored on horseback, dined together, sat by the fire, dreamed under the stars, and shared many discussions together. As a bi-product, they amplified, encouraged, strategized and supported each other’s creative work and businesses.
By spending time in the wilderness, these icons of their day, became good friends despite the differences their age, living in different states, and leading different industries. John Burroughs was in early his early 80s and on their last trip, Thomas Edison was 77, Henry Ford was 61, Harvey Firestone was 56.
Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone and John Burroughs aka The Vagabonds were each iconic leaders in their own fields. From 1914 to 2024, spent quality time glamping every summer and changed our world. This is the 100-year anniversary of their last official Vagabond road trip and still today we all feel their profound impact on the world.
